About SVFT
Founder

Swami Veereshananda Saraswati – Sri Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi is a dynamic spiritual leader and inspiring monk of the Ramakrishna Movement and the revered President of the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Tumkur, Karnataka. He holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from the University of Mysore and was conferred an Honorary Doctorate by Tumkur University. Swamiji embraced Sanyas Diksha in 1988.

A distinguished spiritual leader and orator, Swamiji has delivered numerous lectures and discourses across the world, including the 4th World Parliament of Religions (July 2004) at Barcelona, Spain; a Special Discourse during the National Cultural Festival at Turin, Italy; Chief Guest for the International Yoga Day 2018 celebrations in Rome, Milan (Italy), and Paris (France); Special satsangs in London at the Nehru Centre, Indian Embassy, Swami Narayan Gurukula, and with the Sri Lankan Community; Participation in the Veda Ghosha Programme held at the residence of His Holiness Pope Francis in the Vatican; a series of ten discourses on the topic “Education: The Panacea” for NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), an autonomous body under the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India; teaching an Open Elective Course on “Life and Philosophy of Swami Vivekananda” for degree students at several universities. Over the past 3 decades, Swamiji has addressed and inspired over 1.5 million students and one lakh educators through his enlightening discourses.

Among the Ashrama’s notable initiatives, Srimata Sri Sharadadevi’s birthday is observed annually as “Jeevantha Durga Pooja Day.” On this day, impoverished and destitute women from slum areas are invited to the Ashrama and revered as the living embodiment of Holy Mother Sharada Devi. They are offered food grains, clothing, and meals with devotion. Over the past 25 years, more than 8,000 underprivileged women have benefited from this compassionate program.

In recognition of his selfless service to society, Swamiji was honored with the “Siddaganga Sri Shivakumara Award” by Siddaganga Math, Tumakuru, in 2017.

Swami Paramananda Maharaj – serving as the President of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashrama, Kudur, and Secretary of the Ashrama in Tumakuru, Karnataka. An engineer-turned-monk with a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Project Management, he left a successful corporate career to dedicate his life to spirituality, service, and environmental stewardship. Before embracing monastic life, Swamiji gained national and international acclaim for his contributions to biodiversity conservation, representing India at global forums and influencing the National Biodiversity Bill (2005). Awarded the Rashtrapati Puraskar in his youth, he later received Sannyasa Deeksha at Sri Badrika Ashram, Himachal Pradesh, in 2014.

A global ambassador of peace, interfaith harmony, and sustainable living, Swamiji’s historic Veda Ghosha at the Vatican in 2018 before His Holiness Pope Francis stands as a symbol of spiritual unity. His enlightening discourses across Europe, North America, and Asia inspire ethical leadership, environmental consciousness, and selfless service.

Rooted in the ideals of Tyaga and Seva—renunciation and service—Swamiji continues to guide youth, promote value-based education, and champion harmony between humanity and nature, embodying Swami Vivekananda’s vision of a spiritually awakened and compassionate world.
